Description
Cook frozen, unthawed shrimp directly in your air fryer for perfectly juicy and tender results in under 15 minutes with a simple garlic butter seasoning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb frozen raw shrimp, shells on or off, unthawed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (for tossing after cooking)
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Lightly spray the frozen shrimp with cooking spray or toss them gently with half of the oil and spice mixture.
- Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 6 minutes.
- Remove the basket, shake well, and flip the shrimp. Brush or toss with the remaining spice mixture.
- Return to the air fryer and cook for another 4 to 6 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque throughout. The total cook time will be 10 to 12 minutes.
- Immediately transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl. Drizzle with the melted butter and toss to coat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve right away.
Notes
- For extra crispy shrimp, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
- Do not thaw the shrimp before cooking; cooking from frozen ensures a better texture.
