Description

Cook thick-cut pork chops in your air fryer for a tender, juicy interior and a satisfyingly crisp exterior without excess oil. This recipe works for both bone-in and boneless cuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 thick-cut pork chops (about 1 inch thick, bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a crisp crust.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and thyme to create your seasoning blend.
  3. Rub the olive oil lightly over both sides of the pork chops, or spray them with cooking spray.
  4. Generously coat both sides of the chops with the seasoning blend, pressing it lightly onto the meat.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the seasoned pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 10 minutes.
  8. Flip the pork chops carefully.
  9. Continue to air fry for another 4 to 7 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius).
  10. Remove the chops from the air fryer and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For thicker chops (over 1.25 inches), you may need to increase the final cook time by 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Always use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; visual checks can be misleading.
  • If you prefer a slightly sweeter flavor, substitute 1/2 teaspoon of the thyme with brown sugar in the seasoning blend.
