Description

These Bacon Wrapped Dates with Goat Cheese are the perfect appetizer. You get a wonderful combination of sweet dates, salty bacon, and creamy goat cheese. They are easy to make and always a hit at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Medjool dates
  • 4 ounces soft goat cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, halved lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Carefully slice each date lengthwise and remove the pit.
  3. Stuff each date cavity with a small amount of goat cheese.
  4. Wrap one half-slice of bacon around the center of each stuffed date, securing it with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Place the wrapped dates seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If using, brush the tops lightly with maple syrup for extra glaze.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • If your bacon is very thick, you may need to bake them slightly longer to get it fully crisp.
  • For an extra flavor pop, sprinkle the finished dates with a tiny pinch of sea salt or finely chopped chives.
  • Use toothpicks to secure the bacon if you find the wrapping keeps coming undone.
