Description
Create an impressive, layered dessert featuring rich chocolate, creamy no-bake cheesecake, and the distinct flavor of Baileys Irish Cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream liqueur
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 package (about 14 ounces) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
- 2 cups cubed chocolate cake or brownies (store-bought is fine)
- Extra Baileys for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cookie crumble: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor or large plastic bag and crush them until they form coarse crumbs. Set aside about 1 cup for topping and use the rest for layering.
- Make the cheesecake layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in the 1/2 cup of Baileys Irish Cream until fully combined.
- Prepare the whipped cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
- Make the pudding layer: In another bowl, whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
- Assemble the trifle: Select a large glass trifle bowl or individual serving glasses. Start with a layer of chocolate cookie crumbs on the bottom.
- Add a layer of cubed chocolate cake or brownies over the crumbs.
- Spread half of the Baileys cheesecake mixture evenly over the cake layer.
- Spoon half of the chocolate pudding mixture over the cheesecake layer.
- Repeat the layers: Add another layer of cookie crumbs, followed by the remaining cake/brownies, the rest of the cheesecake mixture, and finally the rest of the chocolate pudding.
- Chill: Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set.
- Garnish before serving: Top the trifle with the reserved cookie crumbs. If desired, drizzle a small amount of extra Baileys over the top layer just before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger Baileys flavor, you can lightly brush the cake/brownie pieces with a small amount of Baileys before layering.
- If you do not have a trifle bowl, this recipe works well layered in clear glasses for individual servings.
- Use good quality chocolate cookies for the best crumb texture and flavor.
