Description
A refreshing lemonade infused with blueberry and lavender.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup dried lavender buds
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 6 cups cold water
- Ice for serving
- Fresh lemon slices and blueberries for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, lavender buds, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and let it gently bubble for 10-15 minutes, until the blueberries have burst and the liquid is a deep purple.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for another 10 minutes to allow the lavender flavor to infuse.
- Strain the blueberry-lavender mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Add the sugar to the warm blueberry-lavender liquid and stir until completely dissolved.
- Pour in the fresh lemon juice and the remaining 5 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed by adding more sugar or lemon juice.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh lemon slices and blueberries.
Notes
- For a stronger lavender flavor, you can increase the amount of dried lavender buds.
- Adjust the sugar to your preference; some like it sweeter, some prefer it more tart.
- Fresh lavender flowers can also be used, but use slightly more as their flavor is less concentrated than dried buds.
