Description

Instructions

  1. Preheat your campfire coals.
  2. Cut the top quarter off each orange.
  3. Scoop out the pulp from the orange halves, leaving the peel intact.
  4. Prepare the cake mix according to the box directions.
  5. Fill each orange half with cake batter, about two-thirds full.
  6. Place the orange tops back on.
  7. Wrap each filled orange tightly in aluminum foil.
  8. Place the foil-wrapped oranges directly into the campfire coals.
  9. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through. Rotate occasionally for even cooking.
  10. Carefully remove oranges from coals and let them cool slightly before unwrapping.
  11. Serve the cake directly from the orange peel.
