Decadent Cheesecake-Stuffed Apples: 1 Heavenly Bite

  • Author: Alexander Knight

Description

These cheesecake-stuffed apples are a delightful fall treat. They’re like an inside-out caramel apple with a creamy cheesecake filling baked right into hollowed-out apples. Enjoy a warm, decadent dessert that’s perfect for the season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work well)
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: caramel sauce, chopped nuts, whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and dry the apples. Cut off the top 1/2 inch of each apple and set aside.
  3. Using a spoon or melon baller, carefully scoop out the core and seeds from each apple, creating a hollow cavity. Be careful not to go through the bottom or sides of the apple.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add the granulated sugar, flour, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  6. Spoon the cream cheese mixture evenly into the hollowed-out apples, filling them to the brim.
  7. Place the filled apples in a baking dish. You can pour about 1/4 inch of water into the bottom of the dish to help keep the apples moist.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork and the filling is set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  10. Top with caramel sauce, chopped nuts, or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

  • For a more caramel apple flavor, you can drizzle caramel sauce over the top before baking.
  • If you prefer a softer apple, you can par-boil them for a few minutes before stuffing and baking.
  • Ensure your cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth filling.
