- 2 cups cooked, shredded fried chicken
- 1 cup prepared waffle batter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: 1/4 cup chopped chives
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the waffle batter, maple syrup, melted butter, milk, eggs, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Fold in the shredded fried chicken. If using, stir in the cheddar cheese and chives.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly golden brown on top.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can use leftover fried chicken for this recipe.
- Adjust the amount of maple syrup to your sweetness preference.
