Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 (13.8 ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 1 egg, beaten
- Red and green bell pepper strips for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in the squeezed-dry spinach, Parmesan cheese, chopped red bell pepper, green onions, and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Unroll the pizza crust dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
- Gently twist each dough strip and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet to form a Christmas tree shape. You can overlap them slightly.
- Spoon the spinach dip mixture into a small bowl.
- Brush the twisted dough with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and puffed.
- Once baked, let the breadsticks cool slightly on the baking sheet.
- To serve, carefully transfer the Christmas tree breadstick shape to a serving platter. Serve the spinach dip in a small bowl alongside the breadsticks for dipping. Garnish the tree with red and green bell pepper strips for a festive touch.
Notes
- Make sure to squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the thawed spinach to prevent a watery dip.
- You can add a pinch of nutmeg to the spinach dip for an extra layer of flavor.
- For a cheesier dip, add an extra 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese.
- If you don’t have pizza dough, you can use crescent roll dough or even puff pastry.
