Description
Make crisp, sweet, and buttery cinnamon sugar pecans quickly using only five ingredients. This simple oven method guarantees a crunchy texture perfect for snacking or topping salads.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Add the pecans to the butter mixture and toss until they are evenly coated.
- In a small separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
- Pour the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the buttered pecans and toss well until every pecan is coated.
- Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not let them overlap.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring gently halfway through the baking time.
- Remove from the oven and immediately transfer the pecans to a clean piece of parchment paper or a plate to cool completely. They will crisp up as they cool.
Notes
- For extra crunch, let the pecans cool completely on the baking sheet before storing them.
- Store cooled pecans in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
- You can substitute brown sugar for granulated sugar for a deeper molasses flavor.
