Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 6-8 lemons)

- 6 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 1/2 cups of the cold water.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. This creates a simple syrup.
- Remove from heat and let the simple syrup cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and the remaining 4 1/2 cups of cold water.
- Stir well to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Add more sugar or water to your preference.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish with fresh lemon slices.
Notes
- For a stronger lemon flavor, use a little less water.
- For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the amount of sugar.
- You can make a big batch of simple syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for future use.
