Description
Make a simple, moist cake using only four ingredients: sweetened condensed milk, eggs, flour, and baking powder. This recipe requires no mixer and is perfect for beginners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or a standard loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until they are light and slightly frothy.
- Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk into the eggs. Whisk until fully combined.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute 1/4 cup of the flour with finely ground almonds.
- This cake freezes well. Wrap cooled slices tightly in plastic wrap and foil.
- If you prefer a pound cake texture, use a loaf pan and increase the baking time by 10 to 15 minutes.
