Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork.
- Add the breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, celery, red onion, parsley, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the tuna.
- Mix all ingredients until well combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1-inch thick.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the tuna patties in the hot skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook them in batches.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can chill the patties for 15-20 minutes before frying.
- You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
- Serve these tuna patties with a side salad, rice, or roasted vegetables.
- Leftover tuna patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or oven for best results.
