Ingredients

  • 1/2 English cucumber, thinly sliced

  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese and softened butter until smooth.
  2. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of bread.
  3. Arrange the thin cucumber slices in a single layer over the cream cheese mixture on half of the bread slices.
  4. Season the cucumber with a pinch of salt and pepper, and sprinkle with fresh dill if desired.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, cream cheese side down.
  6. Trim off the crusts from each sandwich.
  7. Cut each sandwich into halves or quarters.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.
