Description
Crispy and delicious avocado fries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm avocados
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice each avocado into ½-inch thick wedges.
- Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each avocado wedge in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip floured avocado into beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off.
- Coat avocado thoroughly in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add avocado fries to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid crowding.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm avocados to ensure they hold their shape during frying.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying; this will lower the oil temperature and result in soggy fries.
- Serve the avocado fries immediately for the best texture.
