Description

Enjoy this refreshing and creamy mango sago dessert. It’s easy to make and perfect for a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup small sago pearls
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cook sago pearls: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Add sago pearls and cook according to package instructions, stirring occasionally, until translucent.
  2. Rinse sago: Drain the cooked sago pearls in a fine-mesh sieve and rinse under cold water to remove excess starch. Set aside.
  3. Prepare mango puree: Blend one and a half of the diced mangoes into a smooth puree. Set aside the remaining diced mango for topping.
  4. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mango puree, coconut milk, condensed milk, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
  5. Add sago: Gently fold in the rinsed sago pearls into the mango mixture.
  6. Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to chill.
  7. Serve: Spoon the mango sago into individual serving bowls. Top with the reserved diced mango.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of condensed milk based on your desired sweetness.
  • For a thicker consistency, use less coconut milk or add a little cornstarch slurry to the mixture and heat gently.
  • Fresh mangoes work best for this recipe.
