Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup vanilla or unflavored protein powder (whey or plant-based)
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseed or chia seeds
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons water or milk (if needed for binding)
Instructions
- Place the rolled oats, protein powder, and flaxseed or chia seeds into a medium mixing bowl.
- Add the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly using a sturdy spoon or your hands until a uniform, thick dough forms.
- If the mixture seems too dry to hold together, add water or milk one teaspoon at a time until the dough is workable.
- Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the finished bites on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate the bites for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.
Notes
- Store these energy bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter for variety.
- For added texture, mix in 1/4 cup of mini dark chocolate chips before rolling.
