Description

This recipe for Garlic Butter Ahi Tuna is a quick and flavorful dish perfect for any weeknight meal. Ahi tuna steaks are pan-seared to perfection and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce, creating a restaurant-quality meal you can make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Ahi Tuna Steaks (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer for your desired doneness. Remove the tuna from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter to the same skillet.
  5. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  6. Stir in the chopped parsley and lemon juice.
  7. Return the tuna steaks to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them.
  8. Cook for another 30 seconds to warm the tuna through.
  9. Serve immediately, spooning extra garlic butter sauce over the top.

Notes

  • For a medium-rare tuna, aim for an internal temperature of 115-120°F (46-49°C).
  • You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a little heat.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
