Description
Create delicious, pizzeria-style garlic knots with a side of marinara dipping sauce. These easy-to-make knots are perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Marinara Sauce:
- 1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using store-bought pizza dough, let it come to room temperature according to package directions.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 8 inches long. Tie each rope into a knot.
- Place the knotted dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the garlic knots generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the knots are baking, prepare the marinara sauce. Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the warm garlic knots with the marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- You can make your own pizza dough from scratch for an even more authentic taste.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic and Parmesan cheese to your preference.
- For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
