Description

Enjoy these vibrant grilled fish tacos, topped with a zesty lime crema and fresh toppings, for a light and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound firm white fish fillets (like cod, tilapia, or mahi-mahi)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • For the Lime Crema:
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional Toppings: Shredded cabbage, diced avocado, chopped cilantro, salsa, pickled red onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the fish fillets.
  5. Grill the fish for 3-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the fish is grilling, prepare the lime crema. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
  7. Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds per side, or until softened.
  8. Flake the grilled fish into bite-sized pieces.
  9. Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with grilled fish, drizzling with lime crema, and adding your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • You can also pan-sear the fish if you don’t have a grill.
  • Adjust the lime juice and garlic in the crema to your preference.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of firm white fish.
