Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Lime slices for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the rinsed hibiscus flowers to the boiling water.
  4. Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the hibiscus flowers.
  6. Stir in the sugar until dissolved. Taste and add more sugar if desired.
  7. Let the agua fresca cool completely.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  9. Serve over ice with a lime slice for garnish if desired.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar to your preference.
  • For a stronger flavor, steep the hibiscus flowers for a longer time.
