Description

Whip up these fun and healthy homemade fruit roll-ups using real fruit! They’re a delightful, all-natural snack perfect for kids and adults, made easily in your oven or dehydrator.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pureed fruit (e.g., strawberries, mangoes, peaches, or a mix)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting (around 170°F or 75°C) or prepare your dehydrator according to its instructions.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. In a bowl, combine your pureed fruit with honey or maple syrup and lemon juice, if using. Stir well.
  4. Pour the fruit mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly into a thin layer, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven or dehydrate until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch and peels easily from the parchment paper. This can take 4-8 hours depending on your oven/dehydrator and the thickness of the layer.
  6. Once dried, carefully peel the fruit leather off the parchment paper.
  7. Cut the fruit leather into strips or fun shapes.
  8. Roll up the strips to create your homemade fruit roll-ups.

Notes

  • Ensure your fruit puree is smooth. You can achieve this by blending fresh or frozen fruit in a blender or food processor.
  • For a tangier flavor, use fruits like raspberries or cranberries.
  • If you don’t have parchment paper, you can use a silicone baking mat.
  • Store your fruit roll-ups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
