Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings, flats and drumettes
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional garnishes: chopped chives, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy.
- In a small saucepan, combine the hot sauce, honey, butter, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat.
- Place the dried chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the wings for 20 minutes.
- Flip the wings and bake for another 20 minutes.
- Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).
- Brush the wings generously with the hot honey sauce.
- Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and the wings are cooked through and crispy.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chives or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, you can bake them uncovered on a wire rack set inside the baking sheet.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer it for a few extra minutes before brushing onto the wings.
