Description

Spice up your appetizer game with these irresistible Hot Honey Chicken Wings. They offer a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, guaranteed to impress your guests and add a flavorful kick to any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, flats and drumettes
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional garnishes: chopped chives, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the hot sauce, honey, butter, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat.
  5. Place the dried chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake the wings for 20 minutes.
  7. Flip the wings and bake for another 20 minutes.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).
  9. Brush the wings generously with the hot honey sauce.
  10. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and the wings are cooked through and crispy.
  11. Serve immediately, garnished with chives or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can bake them uncovered on a wire rack set inside the baking sheet.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer it for a few extra minutes before brushing onto the wings.
