Description
A refreshing and easy-to-make beverage featuring the sweet flavor of blueberries and creamy milk.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and water.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries burst and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. You can strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve for a smoother syrup, or leave it as is for a more rustic texture.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the cooled blueberry syrup over the ice.
- Pour the milk over the blueberry syrup.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference.
- For a colder drink, chill the milk before using.
- Frozen blueberries work well and can make the syrup thicker.
- You can add a squeeze of lemon juice to the blueberry mixture for a brighter flavor.
