  • Author: Alexander Knight

  • Yield: 2 servings
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Elevate your grilled cheese game with this inside-out method! We’re putting the cheese on the outside for an ultra-crispy, golden crust that’s pure cheesy bliss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your favorite blend)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. Flip two slices of bread so the unbuttered side is up. Sprinkle half the shredded cheese evenly over these two slices.
  3. Top with the other two bread slices, buttered side up.
  4. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, place the sandwich.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom bread is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  6. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese around the edges of the sandwich in the pan.
  7. Carefully flip the sandwich.
  8. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has formed a lovely crust.
  9. Remove from skillet and let it rest for a minute before slicing and enjoying.

Notes

  • Using a good melting cheese is key for that gooey center.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook one sandwich at a time if needed.
  • Adjust heat to prevent burning while ensuring cheese melts.
