Description
Create a delicious and refreshing Mango Coconut Bubble Tea at home. This recipe guides you through making your own boba pearls and a creamy, tropical drink that’s perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup tapioca pearls
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup fresh mango chunks
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup brewed black tea, chilled
- 2 tablespoons sweetener (e.g., simple syrup or honey), or to taste
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Cook the tapioca pearls: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the tapioca pearls and cook according to package directions, usually about 15-20 minutes, until they are translucent and chewy. Drain the pearls and rinse them under cold water.
- Sweeten the pearls: In a small bowl, combine the cooked tapioca pearls with 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Stir well and set aside to let the pearls soak up the sweetness.
- Prepare the mango puree: In a blender, combine the fresh mango chunks with 1/4 cup of coconut milk. Blend until smooth.
- Assemble the drink: In a large glass or shaker, combine the mango puree, the remaining coconut milk, chilled black tea, and sweetener. Stir or shake well until combined.
- Add boba and ice: Spoon the sweetened tapioca pearls into your serving glasses. Fill the glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the tea mixture over the boba and ice. Stir gently and enjoy your homemade Mango Coconut Bubble Tea!
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sweetener.
- For a stronger mango flavor, use ripe, sweet mangoes.
- If you don’t have fresh mangoes, you can use frozen mango chunks or mango puree from a can.
- Ensure your black tea is fully chilled before assembling the drink.
- For a dairy-free option, use a plant-based milk instead of coconut milk.
