Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms, sautéed
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 slider rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef, chopped onion, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
  2. Form the mixture into 12 small patties, similar in size to your slider rolls.
  3. Cook the patties on a grill or skillet over medium heat until done to your liking.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with one slice of Swiss cheese and cover briefly to melt.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  6. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally.
  7. Place the bottom halves of the rolls on a baking sheet. Top each with a cheesy beef patty.
  8. Place the sautéed mushrooms over the cheese and meat.
  9. Mix the melted butter and Dijon mustard. Brush this mixture over the top halves of the rolls.
  10. Place the top halves onto the sliders.
  11. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the rolls are lightly golden and heated through.

Notes

  • You can use pre-sliced mushrooms to save prep time.
  • Sauté the mushrooms with a little garlic powder for extra depth of flavor.
  • If you prefer, you can assemble the sliders completely and bake them together for a warm sandwich effect.
