- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas well.
- Stir in the melted butter, baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the flour and chopped walnuts until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For an extra moist bread, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots.
- You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for added spice.
- To toast the walnuts, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until fragrant.
