Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 cup of flour, rolled oats, remaining 3/4 cup of brown sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peaches.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • You can add a splash of lemon juice to the peaches to brighten their flavor.
  • If your peaches are very juicy, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the peach mixture.
