Description

This peach crisp with fresh peaches offers a warm, comforting dessert with juicy peaches and a sweet, buttery crumb topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6-8 ripe fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, and salt.
  5. Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly and tender.
  8. Let the peach crisp cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the peach mixture.
  • If your peaches are very sweet, you can reduce the amount of granulated sugar slightly.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
