Description

Make this sophisticated and festive Peppermint Espresso Martini for your next holiday gathering. This recipe combines strong espresso with vodka and a hint of peppermint.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly brewed espresso, cooled
  • 0.75 oz Coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint syrup
  • 0.5 oz Simple syrup (optional, adjust for sweetness)
  • Crushed peppermint candies and cocoa powder for rim
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Mix crushed peppermint candies with a small amount of cocoa powder on a shallow plate. Moisten the rim of your martini glass with a lime wedge or water, then gently dip the rim into the mixture to coat. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint syrup, and simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Seal the shaker tightly and shake hard for about 15-20 seconds until the shaker is very cold and a good foam layer forms.
  5. Double strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, substitute 0.5 oz of the vodka with 0.5 oz of heavy cream or Irish cream liqueur.
  • Use high-quality, freshly pulled espresso for the best flavor and foam.
  • If you do not have peppermint syrup, you can substitute it with 0.25 oz of peppermint schnapps, but reduce the simple syrup accordingly.
