Description
Make this sophisticated and festive Peppermint Espresso Martini for your next holiday gathering. This recipe combines strong espresso with vodka and a hint of peppermint.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Freshly brewed espresso, cooled
- 0.75 oz Coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlua)
- 0.5 oz Peppermint syrup
- 0.5 oz Simple syrup (optional, adjust for sweetness)
- Crushed peppermint candies and cocoa powder for rim
- Ice
Instructions
- Prepare the rim: Mix crushed peppermint candies with a small amount of cocoa powder on a shallow plate. Moisten the rim of your martini glass with a lime wedge or water, then gently dip the rim into the mixture to coat. Set the glass aside.
- Combine vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint syrup, and simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice.
- Seal the shaker tightly and shake hard for about 15-20 seconds until the shaker is very cold and a good foam layer forms.
- Double strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, substitute 0.5 oz of the vodka with 0.5 oz of heavy cream or Irish cream liqueur.
- Use high-quality, freshly pulled espresso for the best flavor and foam.
- If you do not have peppermint syrup, you can substitute it with 0.25 oz of peppermint schnapps, but reduce the simple syrup accordingly.
