Description
These ham and cheese pickle roll-ups are a delightful retro party snack. They combine creamy cream cheese, savory ham, and tangy dill pickles, all rolled up and sliced into easy-to-eat pinwheels. They are a no-cook appetizer perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill (or 2 teaspoons dried dill weed)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 (6-inch) flour tortillas
- 16 thin slices deli ham
- 8 dill pickle spears, drained and patted dry
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with fresh dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Lay out the flour tortillas. Spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla, leaving a small border.
- Place two slices of ham on top of the cream cheese on each tortilla, overlapping them slightly.
- Lay one dill pickle spear along the edge of the ham on each tortilla.
- Tightly roll up each tortilla, starting from the edge with the pickle.
- Wrap each rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Before serving, unwrap the chilled rolls and slice them into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels.
- Arrange the pickle dip roll-ups on a serving platter.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cream cheese mixture.
- If you don’t have fresh dill, dried dill weed works well.
- Ensure your pickles are well-drained and patted dry to prevent a soggy roll-up.
- Chill the roll-ups for at least an hour to make slicing easier and cleaner.
