Ingredients

- 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium heat.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, and Italian herbs.
- Add the portobello mushroom caps to the marinade and turn to coat evenly. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Grill or cook the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly browned.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast the burger buns if desired.
- Assemble the burgers with the grilled mushrooms and your favorite toppings.

- You can marinate the mushrooms for longer for a deeper flavor.
