Description

Make this simple, creamy salmon salad using canned salmon. It is ready fast and works well for sandwiches, lettuce wraps, or as a simple spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5 ounce) can salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned salmon well and place it in a medium bowl. Flake the salmon using a fork.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, chopped celery, minced red onion, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and dried dill weed to the bowl.
  3. Mix all ingredients together until they are just combined and creamy. Do not overmix.
  4. Season the salad with salt and pepper to your preference.
  5. Serve immediately or chill for 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a lower-fat option, substitute half of the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
  • Serve this salad inside lettuce cups for a low-carb meal.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of sweet pickle relish for a different flavor profile.
