Description

A festive red, white, and blue trifle perfect for patriotic holidays.


Ingredients

  • 1 (10.75 ounce) loaf pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries


Instructions

  1. Arrange half of the pound cake cubes in the bottom of a large glass trifle dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping.
  3. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the pound cake layer.
  4. Layer half of the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Layer half of the blueberries over the strawberries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, cream cheese mixture, strawberries, and blueberries.
  7. Top with the remaining whipped topping.
  8. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade pound cake.
  • For best results, chill the trifle for several hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
