Description

This Spicy Watermelon Margarita is a refreshing summer cocktail with a delightful kick. It’s perfect for parties and warm weather gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 0.5 oz agave nectar (or simple syrup), adjust to taste
  • 2-3 thin slices of jalapeño (seeds removed for less heat, adjust to your spice preference)
  • Ice
  • Optional: Salt or sugar for rimming the glass
  • Garnish: Watermelon wedge, lime wheel, or jalapeño slice

Instructions

  1. If rimming your glass, rub a lime wedge around the edge and dip it in salt or sugar. Fill the glass with ice.
  2. In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon, tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and jalapeño slices.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if needed. If you prefer it less spicy, strain out the jalapeño pieces.
  5. Pour the margarita into your prepared glass over the ice.
  6. Garnish with a watermelon wedge, lime wheel, or jalapeño slice.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your summer sipper!

Notes

  • For a milder spice, use only one slice of jalapeño or remove all seeds and membranes.
  • If you don’t have a blender, you can muddle the watermelon and jalapeño in a shaker, then add the other ingredients and shake with ice.
  • Adjust the amount of agave nectar based on the sweetness of your watermelon and your personal preference.
