Description
This Spicy Watermelon Margarita is a refreshing summer cocktail with a delightful kick. It’s perfect for parties and warm weather gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 0.5 oz agave nectar (or simple syrup), adjust to taste
- 2-3 thin slices of jalapeño (seeds removed for less heat, adjust to your spice preference)
- Ice
- Optional: Salt or sugar for rimming the glass
- Garnish: Watermelon wedge, lime wheel, or jalapeño slice
Instructions
- If rimming your glass, rub a lime wedge around the edge and dip it in salt or sugar. Fill the glass with ice.
- In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon, tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and jalapeño slices.
- Blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if needed. If you prefer it less spicy, strain out the jalapeño pieces.
- Pour the margarita into your prepared glass over the ice.
- Garnish with a watermelon wedge, lime wheel, or jalapeño slice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your summer sipper!
Notes
- For a milder spice, use only one slice of jalapeño or remove all seeds and membranes.
- If you don’t have a blender, you can muddle the watermelon and jalapeño in a shaker, then add the other ingredients and shake with ice.
- Adjust the amount of agave nectar based on the sweetness of your watermelon and your personal preference.
