Description

Make quick, flavorful steak bites coated in a sweet and savory sticky glaze. This recipe is simple for a weeknight meal or an easy appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the steak cubes to the skillet in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove the steak and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger to the skillet.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet. Toss gently to coat all pieces evenly with the sticky glaze.
  7. Cook for 1 minute more until the steak is fully coated and heated through.
  8. Remove from heat, sprinkle with black pepper, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the steak cubes in half the soy sauce and pepper for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving for color and texture.
  • If the glaze becomes too thick before adding the steak back, add one teaspoon of water to thin it slightly.
