Description

Prepare quick, flavorful salmon bites coated in a sticky sweet chili lime glaze. This recipe works well for appetizers or a light main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb salmon fillet, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the salmon fillet into uniform 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a medium bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, lime juice, soy sauce, lime zest, minced garlic, and ground ginger to create the glaze.
  4. Pour half of the glaze over the salmon cubes. Gently toss to coat all pieces evenly. Reserve the remaining half of the glaze for brushing later.
  5. Arrange the salmon cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake for 8 minutes.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and brush the tops of the salmon bites with the reserved glaze.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the glaze is sticky.
  9. Serve immediately as appetizers or over rice.

Notes

  • For air fryer preparation, cook at 380°F (195°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, brushing with glaze halfway through cooking.
  • You can substitute honey for a portion of the sweet chili sauce if you prefer a thicker glaze.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or sesame seeds before serving.
