Description

Indulge in these fudgy brownies with a beautiful tahini swirl. They’re rich, chocolatey, and have a delightful nutty contrast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and espresso powder, if using.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition until the mixture is glossy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and flour.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini and powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Dollop spoonfuls of the tahini mixture over the brownie batter in the pan.
  10. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the tahini dollops.
  11. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the tahini mixture into the brownie batter to create ribbons.
  12. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  13. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, underbake them slightly.
  • Ensure your tahini is well-stirred before using.
  • You can add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter for extra texture.
