Description

Create a delicious Teriyaki Salmon Bowl at home with this easy recipe. Bake or pan-sear your salmon with a sweet and savory teriyaki glaze for a restaurant-quality meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, sliced green onions, steamed broccoli, shredded carrots

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat if pan-searing.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, honey, ginger, and garlic to make the teriyaki glaze.
  3. If baking, place the salmon fillet on a baking sheet. Brush generously with the teriyaki glaze.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Brush with more glaze halfway through cooking.
  5. If pan-searing, sear the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, until cooked through. In the last few minutes of cooking, add the teriyaki glaze to the skillet and let it thicken, coating the salmon.
  6. Serve the teriyaki salmon over cooked rice.
  7. Add your favorite optional toppings like sesame seeds, green onions, broccoli, or carrots.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in half of the teriyaki glaze for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more or less brown sugar and honey.
  • Ensure the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness.
