Description
Create a warm and comforting Winter Spiced Oat Latte at home. This recipe captures the cozy feeling of the season in your favorite mug. You will love the blend of rich coffee and gentle winter spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup brewed strong coffee or espresso
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of ground ginger
- Optional: Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Combine the milk and rolled oats in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the oats steep in the hot milk for 5 minutes.
- Carefully strain the oat milk mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container to remove the oats. Press gently on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
- Return the strained oat milk to the saucepan over low heat.
- Stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Whisk gently until heated through and the spices are incorporated.
- Pour the strong coffee or espresso into your serving mug.
- Pour the warm, spiced oat milk over the coffee.
- Top with whipped cream, if desired, and enjoy this festive drink.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, you can blend the steeped oat milk briefly with an immersion blender before straining.
- Adjust the spice quantities to match your preference for warmth.
- Use your favorite milk alternative, like almond or oat milk, for a dairy-free version.
