Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened plant-based milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegan butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional, for cheesy flavor)
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving (vegan options available)
- Celery sticks for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, plant-based milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until a smooth batter forms.
- Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss until well coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the coated cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the cauliflower is cooking, whisk together the buffalo sauce, melted vegan butter, and nutritional yeast (if using) in a bowl.
- Once the cauliflower is crispy, transfer it to a clean bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce mixture over the cauliflower and toss gently to coat.
- Return the coated cauliflower to the air fryer and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
- Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
Notes
- For extra crispy florets, you can dust them with a little extra flour after coating them in the batter before placing them in the air fryer.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to your spice preference.
- Feel free to add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the batter for an extra kick.
