Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs

  • For the Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 1-2 teaspoons milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach a drizzling consistency.
  10. Drizzle the cooled cookies with the maple glaze.

Notes

  • For extra depth of flavor, brown the butter before using it in the recipe. Cool the brown butter slightly before creaming it with the sugars.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before scooping if your dough seems too soft; this helps prevent spreading.
  • Use pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup, for the best flavor.
